The Porsche 911 GT3 RS has embodied, since its debut in 2003 (996), the most radical variant of the GT3, designed as a race car approved for the road. Each generation has strengthened this direct link to competition, integrating technologies from the 911 RSR and Cup.The latest generations – the 991.2 GT3 RS (2018) and especially the 992 GT3 RS (2022) – mark a culmination. The 991.2 had already pushed aerodynamics and the naturally aspirated engine to their limits. The 992, on the other hand, takes a historic leap: its active aerodynamics, directly inspired by F1 and endurance racing, transforms the RS into a true track machine.Behind these models is the idea of preserving the pure Porsche DNA – the high-revving flat-six engine – while demonstrating that innovation and extremity can coexist. The GT3 RS thus remains the modern icon of the 'race car for the road'.
